Kathy Nugent Memorial Fund
A True Hephzibah Hero
Kathy was a beloved member of the Day Care program staff for 40 years, caring for and nurturing children after school. The need for childcare for her own four children was what initially drew Kathy to the Hephzibah program. At that time, the program was located at Hephzibah Home. While her children were there, she began working in the mornings, helping the children get ready for school.
She eventually transitioned with the program when it was moved to the local elementary schools for after-school care. She settled in at the Mann School site as Day Care Coordinator and Site Supervisor.
Kathy was well-known everywhere she went, always recognizable to the many families whose lives she touched. Locals considered her a part of their family and always told her so. “I love the kids. I love my job. I love Hephzibah. What can I say?” Kathy remarked after winning the Hephzibah Heart of Gold Award at the 2015 Heart of Gold Ball.
Please consider a gift to the Kathy Nugent Memorial Fund in her memory. All gifts will be applied to support the after-school and summer camp program so that the program Kathy whole-heartedly supported can continue to offer affordable child care in our community.
